Specialties

I specialize in working with women and Latinas or women from a bicultural background who seem ‘put together’ on the outside but inside they find themselves feeling anxious and overwhelmed, struggle with self worth, are fighting (or giving in to) perfectionism and struggle with their own identity, especially after life transitions or due to having to navigate being bicultural. I specialize in creating a safe space where you can be you-without the mask you think you need to wear.

  • If you’re experiencing relational concerns or have experienced relational trauma or attachment issues and wanting to develop healthier relationship dynamics. You might be seeking healthy love but find yourself reacting old wounds from family of origin trauma or early attachment injuries.

  • I help women and Latinas explore their sense of self in the context of culture, family expectations, and life transitions. We explore narratives developed in childhood and adulthood and learn how these have impacted your sense of self and belonging. We work on answering questions like “Who am I? and “Where do I fit?” as we break down layers to better know you and accept you fully for who you are.

  • We’ll discuss your culture, your family of origin and how this has and continues to impact you. We look at cultural expectations, unspoken roles, growing up having two or more cultures; we look at immigration stress and inherited traumas that influence your identity, your relationships, and feeling of belonging. Our goal here is to feel empowered and confident as you learn about all parts of you.

  • From entering adulthood to becoming a mom, navigating college, entering marriage, or moving to a new state or country. All change tends to challenge one’s sense of self and stability. We can be hopeful though, that growth comes from emotional upheaval. But you don’t have to do it alone!

  • If you find yourself experiencing emotions intensely or call yourself a ‘highly sensitive person’, then you have a super power. In know it doesn’t feel like it at times, but trust me, you can harness it and learn to navigate your emotions in ways you feel proud of. Depending on your needs, we can work on building tools to managing big feelings, we can learn to set boundaries and learn to read your body when it whispers.

  • If you’re a high achiever, you might find yourself struggling with perfectionism. Perhaps this was the way you learned to feel worthy or in control. In therapy, we look at things that led to you using perfectionism as a way of coping and find healthier ways to gain self worth.
